Hi, I’m JD, the heart behind Illuminate Solutions.

Born in Jamaica and raised in New York since the age of five, my story is woven with culture, courage, and a deep love for community. My life has been anything but easy, and yet, it’s the challenges that have shaped me into the woman I am today.

A few years ago, I faced the biggest fight of my life—a battle with heart disease that ultimately led to a rare and miraculous double transplant. That experience broke me open in the best way. It taught me the power of faith, the strength of the human spirit, and the profound importance of service. I don’t just understand what it means to overcome—I live it every single day.

That journey ignited a deeper purpose in me: to pour into others, especially youth and families from disadvantaged communities. I’ve seen firsthand what happens when young people feel seen, heard, and supported. And I’ve also seen what happens when they don’t. That’s why Illuminate Solutions exists—to help individuals, families, and organizations not just survive, but thrive.

Whether I’m working with a local church, mentoring a high school student, or helping small businesses streamline their operations, my goal is always the same: to be a light. To uplift. To serve.

I'm proud to call New York home—a place full of resilience, hustle, and heart. Every dollar I earn through Illuminate Solutions is reinvested right back into the people and neighborhoods that raised me. We support youth programs, schools, churches, and grassroots initiatives because that’s what legacy looks like.

Through it all, I’ve learned that asking for help isn’t weakness—it’s wisdom. It’s what allows us to grow. That’s the mindset I encourage in every client I work with. You don’t have to do it all alone. You weren’t meant to.
